Six SVG women's aces to watch this season — who will carry the attack?
The lower division begins a new era as SV.LEAGUE GROWTH (SVG) in 2026-27.
Who should you know first when watching SVG women?
Using match-by-match data from 2025-26 for players registered this season, we looked at who carried each team's attack.
This is not simply a total-points ranking. We look at how often they attacked and how often they scored.
Ligaren Sendai — Manami Miyoshi
Manami Miyoshi is the first name to watch in Sendai. Last season she scored 311 points from 891 attack attempts at 34.9%, adding 38 blocks and nine aces for 358 total points.
Saori Uezawa scored 202 from 522 attacks at 38.7%, while Ayano Takeuji scored 168 from 422 at 39.8%. Others had higher efficiency, but Miyoshi's attack volume stood out.
Shinshu Brilliant Aries — Sayo Masuda
Sayo Masuda led Shinshu with 930 attack attempts, scoring 352 at 37.8%, plus 37 blocks and 20 aces for 409 total points.
Former China international opposite Wang Meiyi was another major source, with 343 kills from 857 attacks at 40.0% and 414 total points, but she left after last season.
With one half of that major scoring pair gone, it will be worth watching whether even more balls go to Masuda or another scorer emerges.
Gifu Rioreina — Rika Mizuno
Gifu is the hardest of the six teams from which to choose just one player. Riko Takazawa had 917 attacks and 316 kills, Rika Mizuno 877 and 304 at 34.7%, and Akemi Takaishi 260 from 645 at 40.3%.
Kyomi Hayakawa also arrives from Breath Hamamatsu after 1,207 attacks, 406 kills and 449 total points last season.
Our one player to follow is Mizuno, already central to the attack and now the new captain. How her volume and efficiency change alongside Hayakawa will be a key story.
Breath Hamamatsu — Tamana Adachi
Hamamatsu's attacking structure changes after Hayakawa, who led the team with 1,207 attempts, moved to Gifu.
Tamana Adachi becomes a key player to watch. She scored 373 from 939 attacks at 39.7% and finished with 419 total points.
Her efficiency was 6.1 percentage points higher than Hayakawa's 33.6%. With last season's highest-volume attacker gone, how much more of the offense Adachi carries will be important.
Kanoa Laulea's Fukuoka — Maika Yamane
Maika Yamane recorded 985 attacks and 409 kills at 41.5%, adding 22 blocks and five aces for 436 total points.
Producing better than 40% while handling nearly 1,000 attacks stands out. Among Kanoa players registered this season, the next-highest attack volume was Airi Miyazaki at 189.
Forest Leaves Kumamoto — Ayami Irie
Ayami Irie produced perhaps the most striking volume of the six: 1,480 attacks and 446 kills, a 30.1% success rate, plus 40 blocks and 20 aces for 506 total points.
Hinako Nagae also had 1,065 attacks and 327 kills, while Kanae Kamamoto scored 270 from 710 at 38.0%.
Efficiency is not the only measure of an ace. Being trusted with 1,480 attacks across 102 sets is itself part of the role.
Six aces, six different roles
The six are Sendai's Manami Miyoshi, Shinshu's Sayo Masuda, Gifu's Rika Mizuno, Hamamatsu's Tamana Adachi, Kanoa's Maika Yamane and Forest's Ayami Irie.
Their roles are not identical. Irie handled extraordinary volume; Yamane combined high volume with better than 40% efficiency. Team circumstances also changed: Wang left Shinshu, while Hayakawa moved from Hamamatsu to Gifu.
Last season's numbers are not a prediction of this season. They are a way to see where the ball may go as SVG begins.
